our history
A Long-Lasting Legacy in the Community
The Spring City Church of God started in the 1940s with a group of individuals who had the desire to worship and praise God. The first church was located at the corner of Short Street and West Rhea Avenue.
In 2020, after many years of being known as the Spring City Church of God, it was decided that a name change was needed to better reflect the church's heart for the community. With the guidance of the Lord, the name Restoring Hope Church was chosen. To learn more about our history, visit the display at the Spring City Museum or get in touch with us today.

In the family atmosphere of Spring City, we strive to be a church that also feels like family. Everyone is welcomed here with a spirit of warmth and love, where they can engage in stirring worship and helpful, relevant guidance for their lives and their relationship with Him. Together, people from all backgrounds travel on a journey to comprehend the life God has planned for them.

THE BIBLE
In the verbal inspiration of the Bible. Holiness is God's standard of living for His people.
GOD
In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
JESUS
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
HOLY SPIRIT
The baptism with the Holy Ghost is subsequent to a clean heart. Speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
HUMANITY
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
SALVATION
Justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Water baptism by immersion is for all who repent. We baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
ETERNITY
The premillennial second coming of Jesus is to first, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air and second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years. The bodily resurrection is for all men, with eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.
THE CHURCH
Divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement. We believe in the Lord's Supper and the washing of the saint's feet.

Meet Our Leadership
Chris Gardener feels privileged to help Restoring Hope Church realize God's plan for the future in his role as pastor. He has a deep desire to see individuals find God, develop their faith, find their calling, and make a difference. He was called to Restoring Hope Church in the summer of 2020 and is delighted to serve the community of Spring City.
He and his wife Tasha have three children and enjoy ministering together as worship leaders and evangelists. They would love to pray for you, so please reach out if there is a need you have.

Restoring Hope Church of God is on a mission to reach, restore, and help people into the kingdom of God by sharing the message of eternal life. Our commitment extends beyond Spring City and surrounding communities to reach the world.
We achieve this by sharing the Gospel, equipping saints, encouraging the community, and exhorting the Gospel through the use of the gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit, all while being led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our goal is to bring them home. (Matthew 28:19; Acts)
Being Rather Than Doing
Our vision is to become a modern picture of the New Testament Church. We strive to please Christ by being a healthy church, both spiritually and socially. We seek to be unified as believers to fulfill the Great Commission. We long to be a powerful church, operating under the leadership and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We know the gospel of Jesus Christ compels us to regularly gather for worship and partake in communion to remember him. In addition to baptizing those who respond, we preach the gospel.
Through fellowships and applicable Biblical teaching, we work to offer companionship, acceptance, and spiritual guidance to people of all ages. We work to serve others in this neighborhood and around the globe as examples of our faith.
